.... yet again, a forest...

It is works like this one that I enjoy the most. The depth, the light, the colours, the strange world. This one currently hangs in my flat, as I rather like it. Also done in oil paints and on board 530 mm x 400 mm.

Crash and Burn

Part of a series I began on planes. As the title suggests it is a crash. I was also playing with the angle on which images are done on at the time. I've done a few on angles much like this now and have come to enjoy the look.

Abstract Mountain

This was originally a mountain scene, but as I worked the image it slowly became what you see. Well to tell the truth, before it was a mountain scene it was a red flower. Strange how many evolutions a work can go through before it is finished.

Splatter tells a cold, cold story

These are a story of a mans travels through a mountain pass. All the images are oil paints on A3 canvas board (420mm x 300mm) there are more to come in the adventure through the cold cold mountain range. Where is this man going? Who can say?

Through a Prism at the Edge of the Woodland

I finished this image late October 2011. It is on loose canvas (1060mm x 600mm) and done using oil paints. You will not believe that this is Foxton Beach, would you? Well yeah I have taken some creative license with it. Haha. A whole heap in fact.
I like to let the brushes and paints I work with dictate my imagery, and my moods and thoughts to dictate the colours and vibes of a work.

The Tree Duo

For such a small piece many hours went in. There was the toning of the sky, the texture of the paint, and composition drawings to get right.

Shifting Trees

With this work I was toying with visual shifting. Created by painting in the background then the white negative space to form the trees. The back of the blue man's head was last.
